This seminar offers theoretical and empirical insights into the importance of the neighbourhood (scale) and social networks for entrepreneurship, the rise and meaning of community-based social enterprise and its relation with the ‘civic economy’, as well as the role of social capital and changing business networks of entrepreneurs located in residential neighbourhoods. Papers have been invited that present theoretical considerations or empirical research on the community- and/or neighbourhood context of entrepreneurship.
